Access to building
Automatic doors lead into the building from a flat surfaced area, and is wheelchair accessible. The room being used for the u3a activity is on the Ground Floor, but there is a wheelchair accessible lift to the first floor if required.
Access for wheelchair users
Yes. All public areas of the Church area are accessible to wheelchair users and those with limited mobility.
Hearing Assistance System
No hearing loop system is available for the session.
Access to Toilets
Toilets (both male and female) are available, and there is a separate wheelchair accessible toilet on the Ground Floor. Toilets on the 1st Floor are available, although not suitable for wheelchairs.
Parking
The car park is split into two areas. The church side car park has 13 allocated spaces. A further 16 spaces round to the side of the church, are available outside school hours only. Each parking area includes a disabled parking bay. Parking is on a first come first served basis. A one-way system operates from the entrance in Weald Drive. Additional parking is available at Furnace Green shops. Note there is a 2-hr time limit for spaces on the left side of the car park at the Shops.
Refreshment Facilities
There is an indoor refreshment area at the Church on a Monday, Wednesday, and Friday – from 10am-3pm. Any other refreshment arrangements will be advised by the Group Leader for each session.
Bus Route
The bus route for Furnace Green is the No. 2. The nearest stop is The Charcoal Burner. It is approximately a 3-minute walk to the Church entrance.
